The Statistic Don't Lie,

Fathers Matter

About

In a world that has decided masculinity is toxic, T.OFF is here to intentionally and proactively engage and celebrate dads and their kids. We don’t have a political agenda, this isn’t for one race or another, it isn’t about privilege or the under-privileged. It is about promoting the benefits of a father’s presence in the household and life of their child. That’s it. That’s the whole thing.

We want to create and promote father/child events to foster the bonds and memories between father and child. In addition, our goal is to engage our communities in the larger conversation, to overcome the concept that masculinity and male energy is toxic. We love dads pushing strollers, changing stations in men’s rooms, dad coaches, PTA members, and dads in classrooms. We encourage and celebrate, engaged and involved fathers.

If we want to take a serious look at the problems plaguing our cities, we must look at a fathers role in raising their child.  Glaring problems in our cities (crime, homelessness, poor education, drug abuse) can be traced back to a male presence in the home.

71% of high school dropouts are fatherless.
That’s almost 3-1. If we are serious about education getting dad involved is key.

85% of youth crime is committed by fatherless children.
That’s almost 6-1.  If we want to reduce crime and lower the prison population, it starts with dads.

Fatherless children are more likely to develop mental issues and abuse drugs and alcohol.
Considering the homeless often suffer from these issues, it’s no shock that 90% of homeless youth come from a fatherless household. That is 9-1. If we want to reduce homelessness, we must begin with improving our father’s involvement in raising their kids.

We love the single moms and grandmas who raised kids by themselves. We know a lot of you have done a great job and we are rooting for you. We also know that having an engaged father in the picture is going to give kids a better chance at staying out of trouble and being a productive member of society.

We get it. Sometimes people have children with another person that they can’t live with. Divorce happens. Unwanted pregnancies happen.  Adults grow apart. Our mission is to support those adult relationships, so the children don’t suffer from the loss of a father’s presence.

In addition, and worth noting, we celebrate single mothers and grandparents who’ve had to raise their children alone.  We see you and we honor you.  It is our mission to raise the expectation for fathers, so fewer of you have to struggle, and our children flourish from the energy that only a father can give.

Be a force for good.
